The Rural Technology Fund currently provides two unique scholarship opportunities.

Judith A. Sanders Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a student from the rural community of Graves County in Western Kentucky and is based on an essay that shows the student’s passion for his or her intended career utilizing computer technology.

Social Entrepreneurship Scholarship

This scholarship is open to students from schools in rural areas in Kentucky who have a passion for using technology skills to make a positive social change in the world or at home in their communities.

Applicants must be an active member of the Student Technology Leadership Program at his or her respective high school.

Applicants must attend a high school in one of the following counties classified as rural by the most recent US Census:

Adair, Allen, Anderson, Ballard, Barren, Bath, Bell, Boyle, Breathitt, Breckinridge, Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Carroll, Carter Casey, Clay, Clinton, Crittenden, Cumberland, Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Floyd, Fulton, Garrard, Graves, Grayson, Green, Harlan, Harrison, Hart, Hickman, Jackson, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Lewis, Lincoln, Livingston, Logan, Lyon, Magoffin, Marion, Marshall, Martin, Mason, McCreary, Menifee, Mercer, Metcalfe, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Muhlenberg, Nicholas, Ohio, Owen, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Powell, Robertson, Rockcastle, Rowan, Russell, Simpson, Taylor, Todd, Union, Washington, Wayne, Whitley, Wolfe.

In order to be eligible for either scholarship, you must be pursuing a college major in the area of computer technology. This includes, but is not limited to:
